This week we are featuring some delightful furniture pieces both classic and contemporary from Brownlow Interior Design. Barb Brownlow (with over 35 years experience in the Design Industry) and daughter Alexandra are renowned for both decorative style and exciting flair and modern design. Barb Brownlow has an extensive knowledge of both early English and Continental furniture. Alexandra is renowned for her unique and exciting approach in applying modern day design, sometimes to quite traditional settings.
To illustrate this here we have a series of recent projects that feature the Adelaide Sofa, the Suffolk Sofa and the Macquarie Wing Chair.
Fabric selection, minor customisation and modifications and presentation are all determined by Brownlow Interior Design. As can be seen the Wills Furniture Collection combined with great interpretive design and creativity provides a stunning result.
Furniture items featured and selected are as follows:
The Adelaide Sofa
Adelaide II Sofa
Adelaide II Sofa
A traditional English Design featuring hand polished, turned legs in Beech Timber with solid brass castors, hand crafted by Wills Furniture in the same fashion for over 90 years. Offering a choice of traditional or contemporary spring support, quality Australian hardwoods, the sofa is blocked and doweled for rigidity and support. With luxuriant cushions of feather fibre and memory foam this is a very comfortable sofa. It is available in two seater, three seater and as an armchair.
The Macquarie Wing Chair
Macquarie Wing Chairs
Macquarie Wing Chair and Adelaide II Sofa
This is a classic wing chair and was one of the original designs created by the Wills Family in the 1930s. It is one of the most popular pieces in the Wills Furniture Collection and has remained unchanged in design for over 45 years. It is available with polished Tasmanian hardwood legs and stretcher rails or with full length pleated skirts.
The Suffolk Sofa
Suffolk Sofa and Macquarie Wing Chair
This is a classic ‘club arm’ designed Sofa with a T-shaped front cushion. Again traditional hand sprung seating and Australian hardwood timber framing. A contemporary look can be achieved using polished timber blocked feet or for a more classic look there is the fully tailored timber valance.
As well there are some beautiful diamond buttoned Ottomans, a diamond buttoned Clutterbox and a Chippendale Stool.
