The Design Decor Mel 18 show is a must attend opportunity for all those interested in Interior Design and Furniture trends. This year the event is timed for the 19th to the 22nd of July and again it is located at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.

Vivid, the competition featuring young and emerging designers has again attracted a quality field of talented individuals and design studios. This is the 15th year of the competition with all finalists now selected. The Vivid exhibition is supervised and curated by the Daniel Della Riva Latitude Group and sponsored by a selection of industry identities such as Houzz, Inside, Living Edge, Interior Design Review and others.

The Vivid Competition and the Design Laneway Wall St displays are critically important for young designers. For those in Textile Design and Surface Art, here is the opportunity to interact with major retailers, manufacturers and established designers in an informal and comfortable setting. Wall St enables textile and surface art to be displayed in large format.

The show provides an excellent vehicle to both promote new material and to view new trends and directions for 2018/19. Colour is definitely to the fore with rich natural greens, reds and deep blues being very popular in this year’s European Summer shows. Florals and Indoor plants also make a big return in fabrics, wallpapers and coverings.

Classic Louis X111 French provincial settee

The settee is available in any custom size with the option of a fitted back or loose back cushion. It has a beautiful hand carved American Cherry timber frame and can be finished in any selected colour with patina distressing and wax finish or a painted or washed finish. Superior comfort is achieved with sumptuous feather down cushions and a hand tied, coil sprung back. Fine double piping detail.

Louis XIV, the Sun King reigned from 1660 to 1720 and the style during his reign was one of unparalleled splendour. He believed his home (Versailles Palace), furniture and décor should reflect the glory, power and wealth of the monarchy.

Louis X1V Bergere chair
